What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Windwhistle, St Rayn Hill, Mangle Cave Hill, Roundham Straight and Chard Road

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Windwhistle - from the junction with Hebers Lane, eastwards incorporating St Rayn Hill, Mangle Cave Hill, Roundham Straight and Chard Road, for a total distance of 4855 metres. This Order will enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways.

The Order becomes effective on 27th May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 3rd June 2026 and last until 8th June 2026 between the hours of 19:00 - 05:00 for a total of 5 nights.
