What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK 

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) 

(DEKKER ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, TEMPORARY PARKING, WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) 

1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable utility works by Southern Gas Networks, it has made an order, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from entering or parking on Dekker Road.

2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to enter, proceed, park, wait, load or unload at any time on Dekker Road between Court Lane and Woodwarde Road on the dates and times shown in section 6.

3. The alternative route will be shown by the signed diversion expected to be via adjacent roads.

4. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the works.

5. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

6. The road closure will be in place on the 8th and 9th of June 2026. Parking restrictions will be in place between the 8th of June and the 6th of July 2026 or when the associated permits are in place.  This order remains valid for 18 months from the 23rd of May 2026.
