WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
The Somerset County Council (No. 4) Modification Order, 2021
Parishes of Sparkford and Queen Camel

On 11 March 2026 The Secretary of State confirmed the above Order made under Section 53(2)b of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.The effect of the Order is to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:Adding to them a Restricted Byway starting from the A 359 at OS grid reference ST 60120 26027 (point G on the Order Plan) and running in a generally north westerly direction for approximately 145 metres to the A303 at OS Grid Reference ST 60010 26124 (point H) and; Adding to them a Restricted Byway starting from the A303 at OS grid reference ST 59972 126155 (point J on the Order Plan) and running in a generally north westerly direction for approximately 80 metres to right of way WN 23/38 in the parish of Queen Camel at OS Grid Reference ST 59911 26204 (point L). A copy of the order and the order plan have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Somerset Council, County Hall, Taunton at any time. The order and plan have been affixed to the door of B Block. Copies of the Order and plan may be obtained by contacting rightsofway@somerset.gov.uk or by ringing 01823 356944. The Order came into force on 11 March 2026, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 of the Act, within 6 weeks from 28 May 2026, make an application to the High Court.
