THE A494 TRUNK ROAD (EASTBOUND LAYBY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A494 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester, in the County of Cheshire, to enable tree cutting works to trim branches around overhead power cables to be carried out in safety.
The Order will ban all traffic from the layby adjacent to the A494 eastbound carriageway situated at a point 1,240 metres west of the Parkgate Road Junction.
The prohibition is expected to take place between 08:00 and 17:00 during a period starting on Wednesday 8 July 2026 and ending on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent days or continue until completed.
The prohibition will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibition will not apply to works vehicles.
The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 7 July 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
