What is happening?
SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL
(WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2021) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER (NO. 1) 2026
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL’S intention to make the above Order under the provisions of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is to come into operation from 3 June 2026 for 18 months and is as follows:
Introduction of Prohibition of Parking on the verge and footway as indicated by signs
Redhouse Way (both sides) from the roundabout junctions with Benedict Mews/Tortworth Road to the roundabout junctions with Millgrove Street and Eastbury Way including 10 metres into the junctions with Dinvant Road, (both), Fitwell Road, Gaveller Road, Birkdale Close, Muerifeld (both), Isambard Way, Tuscan Road (both) and Barcote Close.
Millgrove Street (both sides) from the roundabout junction with Redhouse Way to the roundabout junction of Eastbury Way, including 10 metres into the junctions with Alwyn Court, Frankel Avenue, Denby Road, and Tippett Avenue.
Eastbury Way (both sides) From the roundabout junction with Redhouse Way to the roundabout junction with Addinsell Road and including 10 metres into the junctions with Wade Road and Ironside Close, Doulton Close, Truscott Avenue and Marbeck Close.
The Experimental Order is introduced to provide significant road safety benefits for pedestrians, cyclists and vulnerable road users.

Any person wishing to make representations whether to object to or support the Order before it is made permanent must do so by completing the consultation form which can be found at www.swindon.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders under ‘experimental traffic regulation orders’ reference (H&T/TRO/Redhouse Way) by no later than 3 December 2026.
Any objection or representation received will form part of a public record which may be made publicly available.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 27 May 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
