OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(KINGSTON BAGPUIZE WITH SOUTHMOOR AND LONGWORTH PARISHES)

(SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The effect of the order – in response to the development of adjacent land for residential purposes & the associated construction of a new roundabout junction – is to amend the existing speed limits in Kingston Bagpuize as follows:

1. 30mph speed limit:

a. A415 Abingdon Road – extend the existing 30mph speed limit southeast of its junction with Rectory Lane, to a point 160 metres northwest of its junction with the access to the Kingston Business Park, replacing the existing 40mph speed limit in the process.

2. 40mph speed limit:

a. A415 Abingdon/Kingston Road – from a point 160 metres northwest of its junction with the access to the Kingston Business Park to its junction with Fyfield Wick (including the circulatory carriageway of the new roundabout), replacing the existing 60mph National speed limit in the process.

b. Access road to new development – from its new roundabout junction with the A415 Abingdon Road, northwards for approx. 100 metres.

c. Kingston Business Park access road – from its new roundabout junction with the A415 Abingdon Road, southwards for approx. 30 metres.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor and Longworth Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2025 will be revoked/replaced as required.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the end of 26 June 2026.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Grove, Footpath Lime Tree Close

Date of Order: 26 May 2026

Coming into force: 1 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of electrical maintenance on behalf of SSEN which is anticipated to be completed on 10 July 2026. This is a 24 hour footpath closure. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of the footpath in front of Nos.2-8 Lime Tree Close. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of footpath. Access will be maintained for residents. The alternative route will be signed locally. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The order will remain in force for 6 months or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17705/RMF)

Abingdon, Footpath, Allder Close

Date of Order: 8 June 2026

Coming into force: 19 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of electrical maintenance works on behalf of SSEN which is anticipated to be completed 3 July 2026. The effect of the order is to close temporarily that part of the footpath from outside No.14 to outside No.19 Allder Close. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The alternative route will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T7207/ABC)

Notice of Temporary Footpath Closure

Wantage, Boat 391/46/10

Date of Order: 25 May 2026

Came into force: 1 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of resurfacing works that is anticipated to be completed within 6 months working in stages. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily the Byway Open to all Traffic No.391/46/10 between Charlton Village Road and Rutherford Road, Wantage. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the Works. The footpath will be reinstated when works are complete. There will be no signed diversion route – alternative access will need to be found using residential roads Primrose Avenue and Elder Way to reach Reading Road. The BOAT will only be closed when work is taking place with clear highways signage and advance notice of the exact dates posted on site when known. The works are expected to take 2-3 weeks only, meaning for much of the 6-month period there will be no works taking place and the route will remain open. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The order will remain in force initially for 6 months or until the works are complete whichever is the sooner. Date of Order: 26 May 2026

Coming into force: 3 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of essential electrical maintenance work on behalf of SSEN which is anticipated to take 6 weeks to be completed. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in Lime Tree Close, OX12 0BY. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. There is no diversion for this closure as the closure is on a dead end. This order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17733/MR)

Letcombe Bassett, Bassett Lane

Date of Order: 1 June 2026

Came into force: 8 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of essential drainage and carriageway repairs that are anticipated to be completed 17 June. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily Bassett Lane. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the Works. The diversion is via Gramps Hill, Holborn Hill, B4001, Middleway Bottom, B4507, Windmill Hill, Letcombe Regis, Main Street back to Bassett Road and vice versa. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The order will remain in force for 18 months or until the works are complete whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18234/MR)
