Notice of Making - Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) - Highways Resurfacing Schemes - Various Roads E6 - (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order, 2026
1. The Newham London Borough Council hereby gives notice that it made an Order – the Highways Resurfacing in E6 (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic), Order 2026. The general effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrian and vehicular traffic from proceeding or waiting on the public highway on or near the various roads listed in the schedule below.
2. The Order will be made to enable London Borough of Newham and its contractors to carry out footway and carriageway resurfacing works, on or near the road.
3. The Order will apply from Monday 8th June 2026 until Tuesday 7th December 2027 or on completion of the works, whichever is the sooner.
4. Vehicular traffic may be diverted via local adjacent roads, one-way streets where necessary may revert to two-way working when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016(c). Parking prohibitions will apply when the appropriate signs are displayed.
5. Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained.
6. Nothing in this Order shall apply to vehicles being used for Fire, Ambulance or Police purposes, or with the permission or at the direction of a Police Constable in uniform, or a suitably Authorised Officer. Nothing in paragraph 4 of the Order shall apply to vehicles necessarily used in connection with the works.
