NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES AND RESTRICTIONS
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL made the following orders:
(STR001244 B4000 Queens Road, Hannington) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Queens Road between Skinners Close and Nell Hill. Traffic to be diverted via Queens Road, Gore Farm Lane, Lushill Lane, Red Barn Lane, Water Eaton Lane, A419, B4019 Broad Blunsdon, B4019 Highworth Lane and Swanborough Lane. The Order comes into force on the 8 June 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 8 June to 8 September 2026.
(STR001364 Morses Lane, South Marston) This Order is being introduced for CONSTRUCTION OF SECONDARY LOOP ROAD AS PART OF THE SOUTH MARSTON HOUSING DEVELOPMENT and will impose a closure of Morses lane, South Marston from the junction with Thornhill Road. Diversion via Thornhill Road and Old Vicarage Road. Bridleway SM4 known as Leaze Bridleway and SM11 to be restricted to access only. The Order comes into force on the 1 June 2026 for 12 months.
(STR001340 B4508 Watchfield Road) This Order is being introduced for SSEN works and will impose a prohibition of driving on the B4508 Watchfield Road between B4000 Highworth Road and A420. Traffic to be diverted via A361 Swindon Road and Highworth Road, A419 and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 8 June 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to be in place between 8 June to 20 July 2026.
(STR001327 Park Avenue, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for CIRCET UK and will impose a prohibition of driving on Park Avenue outside No’s 1 to 33. Traffic to be diverted via Park Avenue, Kings Avenue, Brewery Street, Eastrop and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 17 June 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 17 to 19 June 2026.
(STR001322 Broome Manor Lane, Hodson) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Broome Manor Lane, the section which runs through Hodson. Traffic to be diverted via Marlborough Road, Pipers Way, Croft Road, Swindon Road, Moormead Road and Brimble Hill. The Order comes into force on the 19 June 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 19 to 21 June 2026.
(STR001291 Peatmoor Way, West Swindon) This Order is being introduced for SBC WORKS and will impose temporary closure of Peatmoor Way between Roughmoor Way and Hillmead Drive. Traffic to be diverted via Mead Way, Great Western Way, Tewkesbury Way and Roughmoor Way. The Order comes into force on the 22 June 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 22 June to 28 August 2026.
(STR001362 Merlin Way, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PURPOSES and will prohibit vehicles proceeding on Merlin Way from the junction with Covingham Drive to after the access of the Vistry Development as indicated by signs at a speed exceeding 20mph. The Order comes into force on the 27 May for 6 months but it is expected the restriction is only required until 27 June 2026.
