THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
RED HOUSE LANE, MARKET WEIGHTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on foot/
whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along
Red House Lane, Market Weighton commencing
28 May 2026 until 1 June 2026 to allow works
to install ducting in the verge using moleplough on
Red House Lane, Market Weighton. The reason for
the closure is to enable the proposed Red House
Lane, Market Weighton works to be carried out and
completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will
be completed within five days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the Order is via York Road and
Giant Bradley Way, Market Weighton CP, Wolds
Weighton Ward. The road will be closed to all through
traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and
for vehicular access to properties directly affected by
the closure and for emergency services. The Order
will commence 28 May 2026 and continue in force
for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until
the works which it is proposed to carry out have
been completed, whichever is the earlier. Further
