SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF MAIN STREET, BISHOP WILTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part
of Main Street, Bishop Wilton from its junction with
Pocklington Lane heading north onto Garrowby Road
and east along Worsendale Road onto Main Street,
commencing 24 June 2026 at 08.00 hours until
30 June 2026 at 17.00 hours to allow for ducting and
chambers for the new BDUK fibre network on part of
Main Street, Bishop Wilton.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within six days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Pocklington Lane heading north onto
Garrowby Road and east along Worsendale Road onto
Main Street, Bishop Wilton CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
