Road Closure and Temporary One-Way Traffic Restriction and Temporary Prohibition of Stopping Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above order in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to impose a temporary one-way restriction over an area of highway being Trinity Street, St Austell for its full length running in a northerly direction. In addition and to support this one way order there will be a parking suspension on Truro Road from its junction with Trinity Street to its junction with Edgcumbe Road. There will be no Left turn restrictions imposed at all junctions along the Northern side of Trinity Street, and no right turns along all junctions and private entrances along the south side of Trinity Street. Finally West Hill will be closed from its junction with Trinity Street fora distance of approximately 45 metres. The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to carry out essential safety critical modifications to White River Place.
Notice is further given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily impose a stopping prohibition the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to stop as specified on the undermentioned length of road in St Austell. Where any vehicle is found to be in contravention of the Order it may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and may be removed from site.
Road subject to stopping prohibition -Truro Road, St Austell between the junctions of Trinity Street and Edgecumbe Road. The Order will come into operation on 22nd June 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 17th April 2028. The restriction will be in force 24 hours a day weekends included Nothing in this order will apply to anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer. Blue badge holders are not exempt from this prohibition.

This prohibition is necessary for drainage works and it is expected that the closure will be from 22nd June 2026 to 24th June 2026. The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0730 and 1700, weekdays only.

Cornwall Council Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) Temporary Traffic Restriction Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 25th May 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Tolcarne Road, Newquay from Tolcarne Coach Park to junction with Holywell Road. Notice is further given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above order in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily suspend the existing one-way order
The County of Cornwall (Newquay) (Restrictions on Driving) (Consolidation) Order 1991 Holywell Road (Class III) for its entire length.
The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because tree works are being executed on or near the road. The Order will come into operation on 10th June 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 12th June 2026. The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 0730 and 1700 on a daily basis, weekdays only. Nothing in Paragraph 1 of this Order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer. Cornwall Council Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council is under the above Order dated 24th May 2022 continuing to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 34 in the Parish of Treverbyn between grid references SX 02638:60033 and SX 02848:59510. The Order which commenced on the 25th May 2022 and is currently in force for up to six months will now continue until the 25th May 2027. The continuance of this Order, which was to have expired on the 25th May 2026 has been approved by the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. The Council is satisfied that this further restriction is necessary owing to engineering difficulties and the Order is needed due to vandalised and dangerous footbridge removed for safety reasons. Cornwall Council Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 26th May 2026 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 63 in the Parish of Newquay between grid references SW 82855 60769 and SW 82851 60755.
The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed for safety due to an increase in linespeed. The Order will come into operation on 27th May 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 27th November 2026.
The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 6th May 2026 for a period of up to 21 days.
