What is happening?

THE DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL
(A755 BRIDGE STREET/C61S BEACONSFIELD PLACE) 
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will prohibit vehicles from turning right from the A755 Kirkcudbright Bridge into C61s Beaconsfield Place when the appropriate signs to Diagram 612 are displayed. 

The Order will also prohibit vehicles from accessing A755 Bridge Street from C61s Beaconsfield Place when the appropriate signs to Diagram 616 are displayed. 

The temporary Traffic Regulation Order will come into effect at 00.00hrs on 02/07/2026 until 23.59hrs on 01/01/2027, extending the current restrictions by a period of 6 months. 

The proposed restrictions will have the effect of improving vehicle flow and facilitating passage.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council has made the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Details may be inspected online between 28/05/2026 and 09/07/2026 at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk/ or by arrangement (Tel – 033 33 33 3000). 

Any person wishing to challenge the validity of the Traffic Regulation Order on the grounds that it is not within the Statutory powers set out in the Act or relevant regulations, or that any requirement of the Act or relevant regulations has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Traffic Regulation Order was made, make an application to the Court of Session for that purpose, to the Assistant Director Transport and Infrastructure, Economy and Infrastructure, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Militia House, English Street, Dumfries, DG1 2HR, to be received by 09 July 2026.
