What is happening?

Somerset Council Parish of Stoursey Temporary Closure of Water Corner, Tower Hill, High Street and Church Street

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Water Corner - from the junction with Burton Road to the junction with Stoursey Lane; Tower Hill - from the junction with Stoursey Lane to the junction with Vicarage Road; High Street - from the junction with Vicarage Road to the junction with Castle Street and Church Street - from the junction with Castle Street to the junction with Farringdon Hill Lane. A total distance of 1069 metres. This Order will enable Kiely Bros to carry out phased pre-surface dressing patching works (as and when signed on site) on behalf of Somerset Highways. Solid diamond symbolization will be used on the diversion route and will not clash with any other Kiely Bros works within the area.

The Order becomes effective on 9th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 15th June 2026 and last until 22nd June 2026 between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00 for a total of 8 days.
