What is happening?
THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL (B9006 CULLODEN CROSSROADS) (40mph Speed Limit) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Highland Council proposes to make an Order in terms of Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 entitled as above.
The Order was previously advertised in the Inverness Courier on the 15th May 2026 and this is an amendment to that previous Notice.
If the Order comes into force, the Order will introduce a 40mph speed limit on the following roads in Culloden, Inverness-shire over their entire length, unless stated otherwise below:
Route B9006 - Millburn Roundabout - Culcabock - Castle Hill - Culloden Moor - Croy - Gollanfield - Fort George Road.
From a point 140m or thereby to the west from the centre-line of Culloden Battlefield access junction, extending in an easterly direction for a distance of 1160m or thereby.
Route C1028 – Balloch - Culloden Moor Road And Spur To Cherry Park And Link Road From C1032 Leading To Cherry Park.
From its junction with the B9006, extending in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 155m or thereby.
Route C1088 – Culloden – Clava Bridge – Culdoich Road.
From its junction with the B9006, extending south-eastward for a distance of 378m or thereby.
Route B851 – Errogie – Strathnairm – Daviot Bridge – Culloden Moor Road.
From its junction with the B9006, extending south-westward for a distance of 386m or thereby.
A copy of the draft TRO, schedule, plan and the Authority’s Statement of Reasons, along with The Highland Council (Woodside of Culloden Various Roads) (50MPH Speed Limit) Order 2023, which will be revoked in part if the proposed order comes into force can be inspected at the Inverness Service Point, Town House, Castle Street, Inverness, IV1 1JJ during normal opening hours from Monday to Friday 10:00 – 12:30 and 1:30 to 4:30, from the 29th May 2026 to 26th June 2026. All objections to the proposals must be made in writing and must specify the grounds of objection on or before the 26th June 2026 to the following:
