What is happening?

The Borough of Halton 
(VARIOUS ROADS, RUNCORN, WIDNES & HALE) 
(Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Halton Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Road(s) affected:
Queensway, Widnes & Runcorn
Ditton Road (West), Widnes
Hale Road, Hale Bank, Widnes
Hale Gate Road, Hale Bank, Widnes
Town Lane, Hale
Carr Lane, Hale
Higher Road, Hale Bank, Widnes
Ramsbrook Lane, Hale

Reason for making the Order: The Council is satisfied that traffic on the road should be prohibited and/or restricted because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.

Effect of the Order: during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in or along the road.

Alternative Routes: suitably signed alternative route(s) will be provided.

Date Order to come into effect: 6 June 2026

Maximum duration of the Order: 18 months from the date the Order comes into effect.

Note: The closure is for the Jubilee Bridge Half Marathon and 10k. The actual closures are expected to be over a period of approx. 1 day between the hours 5am & 2pm. Roads will be re-opened once the last runner has completed that section of the course.
