What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, PARKING, STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING (TT025-26-27) ORDER 2026

(HIGH STREET, LEIGH-ON-SEA)

Notice is hereby given that Southend-on-Sea City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from stopping, waiting, loading, unloading and parking at the locations stated in the Table of this Notice.

The closures are scheduled to commence in the below Table or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The alternative route will be via the Table of this notice.

The Order will come into effect on 27 May 2026 and 28 May 2026 from 10pm until 4am and may continue in force for 12 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst carriageway marking is carried out.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure where possible.

The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
