What is happening?

SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL
THE BOROUGH OF SLOUGH WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2017 (AMENDMENT NO. 55) ORDER 2026 (Order 8 of 2026) (PROPOSED ORDER)
Sections 1, 32, 35, 45, 46 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 7 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 as amended.
1. SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under sections 1, 45, 46 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and any other enabling powers. The effects of the Proposed Order are set out below.
2. A new “EL1” parking zone would be created for parking in selected areas of the carriageway covering Belgrave Road, Carrington Road, Elliman Avenue, Gilliat Road, Montague Road, Myrtle Crescent, North Green, Ploughlees Lane, Portsmouth Court, Pursers Court, Shackleton Road, South Green, part of Stoke Poges Lane, part of Stoke Road and Whitehaven
3. The Proposed Order would introduce shared use: resident parking / free short term parking, 2-hours maximum stay with no return within 2 hours parking places operating between 8am and 7pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive and waiting restrictions operating at these times and all days and at all times in sections of some of these roads. Waiting restrictions operating at all times would also be introduced in certain sections of Carmarthen Road and Leeds Road. It would also introduce a limited waiting bay, 30 minutes, no return within 1 hour in Stoke Poges Lane, operating between 8am and 7pm on Mondays to Saturdays.
4. Properties eligible for the issue of permits are set out in the Proposed Order.
5. Copies of the Proposed Order, this notice and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at the Council’s offices during normal working hours (excluding bank and public holidays). They may also be inspected on the Council’s website on the public notice page; https://www.slough.gov.uk/consultations-petitions/public-notices-orders/3.
6. Anyone wishing to object to the Proposed Order may do by writing to the address below or emailing parking.consultations@slough.gov.uk. The objection must be made in writing, stating the grounds on which it is made, and must be sent so as to arrive no later than 28 days from the date of this Notice.
