(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Burnage Lane, Heaton Mersey - from House No. 643 to Junction Didsbury Road. Diversion via Parrs Wood Lane, Kingsway, Lane End Road, Burnage Lane and vice versa. Kentstone Avenue, Heaton Mersey - 25m Approach to Burnage Lane. No Diversion. Redstone Road, (Boundary Within Manchester) - 25m Approach to Burnage Lane. No Diversion. Hurstfold Avenue, (Boundary Within Manchester) - 25m Approach to Burnage Lane. No Diversion. Antrim Close, (Boundary Within Manchester) - 25m Approach to Burnage Lane. No Diversion. Kinburn Road, (Boundary Within Manchester) - 25m Approach to Burnage Lane. No Diversion. Northbound Diversion via Woodford Road, Chester Road, Manchester Airport Eastern Link Road. Dysart Street, Great Moor - from A6 to House No 29. No Diversion, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. This Order is necessary to allow planned highway repair works to take place.
It is estimated these works will last up to 3 weeks. This Order is to come into operation on 8 June 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
