What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BANK ROAD, BREDBURY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Bank Road, Bredbury from the junction of Princes Road in a southerly direction for approx. 30m. Whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to undertake electrical link box works. Pedestrian access will be maintained. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the work will be seven days. Alternative routes will be provided via: Bank Road, Ruskin Grove, and vice versa.
This Order is to come into operation on the 5th of June 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
