What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.9) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 12 June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

From its junction with the U1192 to its junction with the C1026.
Alternative Route: via the C1026 Heads Nook and U1192 Broadwath.
2. U2029 Near Calvo – 15 June 2026 for approx. 10 days

From its junction with the C2015 to its junction with the B5302.
Alternative Route: via the B5302, Calvo and C2015.
3. U1168 Front Street, Cotehill – 22 June 2026 for approx. 5 days

From its junction with the C1040 to its junction with the C1038.
Alternative Route: via the C1038, U1169 and C1040.

Alternative Route: via the B5301, B5300, Eden Street, Criffel Street, Petterill Street and B5302.
7. C1017 Wreay – 30 June 2026 for approx. 3 days

From its junction with the C1041 extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 680m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1017, A6, A689, C1041, and C1017.
8. C2017 and U2043 Pelutho – 1 July 2026 for approx. 3 days

(i) C2017 from its junction with the B5301 to its junction with the U2043; and
(ii) U2043 from its junction with the C2017, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 180m.
