TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY AND FOOTPATHS
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(EAST BRIDGFORD BRIDLEWAY NO.35 AND FOOTPATH NO.13 AND NO.14)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.4 ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of "The Nottinghamshire County Council (East Bridgford Bridleway No.35 and Footpath No.13 and No.14) (Temporary Prohibition) Order 2022" (which came into force on 27th November 2022 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order which remained in force until 26th May 2024 and was further continued by a Continuation No.2 Order which remained in force until 26th May 2025 and was then continued by a Continuation No.3 Order which remains in force until 26th May 2026 inclusive) being extended, and continuing in force until 26th May 2027 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect: -
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed,
in the following length of Bridleway at East Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe :-
East Bridgford Bridleway No.35 between grid reference points SK 6873 4352 and SK 6886 4368 a distance of approximately 200 metres.
And no person shall: - (a) proceed on foot, in the following lengths of footpath at East Bridgford in the
Borough of Rushcliffe :-
East Bridgford Footpath No.13 between grid reference points SK 6870 4344 and SK 6920 4382 a distance of approximately 720 metres.
East Bridgford Footpath No.14, from the end of Bridleway No.35 at grid reference point SK 6886 4368 to SK 6891 4372 a distance of approximately 65 metres.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there are no direct alternative route available on public rights of way.
If the works are not completed within the above period, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required due to landslips which have occurred affecting all three paths and the continuing risk of further slips, and to enable remedial works to take place, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the paths.
