What is happening?
DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND CLEARWAY) ORDER 2026 A68 WEST AUCKLAND ROAD, DARLINGTON
Darlington Borough Council has made an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:
1. No stopping at any time (clearway); and
2. the prohibition of the driving of vehicles on
A68 WEST AUCKLAND ROAD SOUTHBOUND From the south side of Swan House Roundabout southwards to the north side of the roundabout at Darlington Farmers Auction Mart
An alternative route will be signed via A6072, Heighington Lane, St Andrews Way, A167, St Augustine’s Way, Woodland Road and vice versa.
The Order is necessary to allow road patching and surfacing works.
The maximum duration of the temporary restrictions under this Order is 18 months commencing from 6th July 2026. It is anticipated that it will be effective between 2000hours and 0600hours for 2 weeks.
