TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (SMITH STREET) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they have made a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Smith Street, to be closed at the junction of Smith Terrace to outside 20 Smith Street.
The Road is to be closed to vehicles for crane works.
The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Monday 1st June 2026 until 18.00hrs on Tuesday 2nd June 2026, with backup dates of Monday 8th June 2026 until Tuesday 9th June 2026.
Diverted through traffic may use Smith Terrace, Radnor Walk, King's Road, or Smith Street, St Leonard's Terrace, Tedworth Square, Radnor Walk, King's Road.
Or Smith Street, King's Road, Walpole Street, St Leonard's Terrace, Smith Street, or Smith Street, King's Road, Shawfield Street, Redesdale Street, Tedworth Gardens, St Leonard's Terrace, Smith Street.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to: - anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
- Anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
