TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (CANNING PLACE) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they have made a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Canning Place to Closed to through traffic from the junction of De Vere Gardens to the junction of Gloucester Road.
The Road is to be closed to vehicles for utility works.
The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Monday 1st June 2026 until 18.00hrs on Friday 5 th June 2026, with backup dates of Monday 29th June 2026 until Friday 3 rd July 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Diverted traffic wishing to turn right, should use De Vere Gardens, Kensington Road, Palace Gate, Gloucester Road. Canning Place to be made two-way for the duration of the closure, to allow access and ergress.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
- anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
- Anything done in connection with the execution of said works
