TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (HILLGATE STREET) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Hillgate Street to be closed from outside No. 8 to outside No. 16.
The road is to be closed to vehicles for utility works.
The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Wednesday 10th June 2026 until 18.00hrs on Friday 12th June 2026, with backup dates of Monday 15th June 2026 until Wednesday 17 th June 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Diverted through traffic may use Hillgate Street, Hill Gate Place, Farm Place, Uxbridge Street, in both directions The One-way working of Hillgate Street between the junctions of Hillgate Place and Uxbridge Street is to be suspended for the duration of the closure, to allow access and egress of the closed section of the road.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
- anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
- Anything done in connection with the execution of said works
