TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (PORTOBELLO ROAD) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they have made a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Portobello Road, to be closed from outside of number 20 to outside of number 38.
The Road is to be closed to vehicles for utility works.
The restrictions will come into force from 09.30hrs until 15.30hrs on Friday 29th May 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Diverted through traffic may use, Pembridge Road, Kensington Park Road, Chepstow Villas, Portobello Road, or Pembridge Road, Pembridge Crescent, Chepstow Villas, Portobello Road, in both directions.
The One-way working of Portobello Road is to be suspended for the duration of the road closure.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
- anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
- Anything done in connection with the execution of said works
