What is happening?

(DYFFRYN ROAD, ALLTWEN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.

The Order is necessary to enable Welsh Water to carry out civil engineering works in the road and for the Highways Section to carry out any ancillary highway maintenance works resulting therefrom.

The Order will come into force on the 15th June 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner, but it is anticipated the works will take 3 days to complete.

SCHEDULE
Dyffryn Road will be closed from outside number 5 Dyffryn Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 170m along its length.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via the unaffected section Dyffryn Road, Alltwen Hill and A474 Graig Road.

Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained.
