(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian (except for filming participants) from proceeding over those lengths of highway in the borough of Lancaster;
A5105 Coastal Road, Morecambe
from the entrance to Cheyette Finess to its Junction with Elm Grove.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the filming of the television series "The Bay".
The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours until 1500 hours on Thursday 11th June 2026.
The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures is via.

From its Junction with Broadway to its Junction with Lord Street

Skipton Street, Back Crescent Street, Graham Street, Derby Street, Tunstall Street & Anderton Street
For their entire length
The prohibition Will be operative from 1800 to 2000 on 28th May 2026.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed, and Emergency access will be maintained at all times
The temporary prohibitions are necessary to enable the filming of the television series "The Bay".
The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Diversions will be signed locally
A HGV Diversion for traffic from Marine Drive East will follow; Lord Street – Euston Road – Central Drive – Marine Road West and Vice Versa.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian (except for filming participants) from proceeding over the following lengths of highway in the borough of Lancaster;
Queen Street, Morecambe
from its junction with Marine Road Central to Back Queen Street.
Back Morecambe Street, Morecambe
from outside Property No1 to its Junction with Clarence Street.
Nelson Street, Morecambe
from its junction with Pedder Street to its Junction with Queen Street.
Morecambe Street West, Morecambe
Junction with Queen Street to its Junction with Clarence Street.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the filming of the television series "The Bay".
The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours until 2000 hours on Wednesday 20th May 2026.
The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
The alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closures are via.
Pedder Street – A589 Marine Road Central – Clarence Street.
Footways will only be closed when the camera is rolling and the stunts are not being performed/rehearsed.
AND FURTHER, during the period of the temporary prohibition the existing limited waiting restriction on B5321 Queen Street from a point 10 metres south-east of its junction with Nelson Street to its junction with Back Queen Street will be temporarily suspended.
