HYSBYSIR DRWY HYN bod CYNGOR SIR FYNWY, Neuadd y Sir, y Rhadyr, Brynbuga, NP15 1GA ("y Cyngor") Wedi gwneud Gorchymyn yn unol â'r pwerau a roddwyd gan Adran 14(1)(a) o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984:  

1.     Daeth y Gorchymyn i rym ar 1af Mehefin 2026 a bydd yn parhau i fod mewn grym am gyfnod nad yw'n hwy na 18 mis neu nes bod y gwaith y cynigir ei wneud wedi'i gwblhau, pa un bynnag yw'r cynharaf. Rhagwelir y bydd y gwaith yn cael ei gwblhau rhwng 1af Mehefin 2026 a’r 9fed Mehefin 2026, gan weithredu rhwng 09:30 – 15:30.  

2.     Roedd y Gorchymyn yn angenrheidiol i wneud gwaith yn gosod ceblau a gwaith peirianneg mewn modd diogel yn y lleoliad.  Cedwir mynediad rhesymol i eiddo sy'n wynebu'r darnau o'r ffordd yr effeithir arnynt yn ystod y cyfnod cau.  

3.     Effaith y Gorchymyn oedd cau dros dro rhan o’r R2 Hen Gastell i Longtown, Pandy, Sir Fynwy,   ~440m o'r gyffordd â Walterstone am ~2.65km i gyfeiriad gogleddol. Sylwch fod y ffordd ar gau i ffin Cyngor Sir Henffordd.  

4.     Roedd llwybr dargyfeirio fel a ganlyn: Walterstone, C1219, C1218, C1205 ac i’r gwrthwyneb.  

5.     Gellir enwi'r Gorchymyn hwn fel Gorchymyn Rheoleiddio Traffig Dros Dro R2 Hen Gastell i Longtown, Pandy, Sir Fynwy 2026.  

6.     Yn sgil Adran 16(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffordd 1984 bydd person sy'n torri cyfyngiad neu waharddiad a osodir dan Adran 14 y Ddeddf yn euog o drosedd.

SECTION 14 - ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984  

MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(R2 OLDCASTLE TO LONGTOWN, PANDY, MONMOUTHSHIRE)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE 2026  

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL of County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA (“the Council”) Has made an order pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984  


1.     The Order came into operation on the 1st June 2026 and will continue to be in force for a period of 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between the 1st June 2026 and 9th June 2026, operating between 09:30-15:30.  

2.     The order was necessary for cabling and civils works to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure.  

3.     The effect of the order was to temporarily close a section of R2 Oldcastle to Longtown, Pandy, Monmouthshire, ~440m from its junction with Walterstone for ~2.65km in a northernly direction. Please note that the closure does extend into Herefordshire County Council boundary.  

4.     A signed diversionary route was in place as follows:- Walterstone, C1219, C1218, C1205 and vice versa.  

5.     This order may be cited as the R2 Oldcastle to Longtown, Pandy, Monmouthshire Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026  

6.     By virtue of Section 16(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 a person who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Act shall be guilty of an offence.
