East Street - Temporary Road Closure Due To Water Supply Disconnection Works
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (EAST STREET) (ROAD CLOSURE) (032/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make
the above Order.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close East Street from its junction with Queensway to its junction with Orchard Lane.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are to disconnect a water supply.
3. The alternative route will be Orchard Lane, Bernard Street, Queensway, Palmerston Road and Houndwell Place.
4. The Order will come into force on 8th June 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by
12th June 2026.
