SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CARTER STREET, SANDY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Carter St, Sandy outside number 94.

This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on

15 June 2026 between the hours of 0900 and 1600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via C51, A1, West Rd, C51 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 15 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Station Road, Tempsford for 20m either side of the level crossing.

This temporary closure is required to enable scrap clearance works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 2300hrs on 20 June until 0730hrs on 21 June. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 20 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Church Road, Sutton outside Charnwood.

This temporary closure is required to enable fire hydrant installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 15 to 19 June 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via B1040, B1042, Sutton Rd, Church Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 15 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Kings Rd, Broom outside number 2.

This temporary closure is required to enable pole replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 4 June 2026 between the hours of 8am and 4pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Shefford Rd, Meppershall outside number 81.

This temporary closure is required to enable defect reinstatment works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 2 to 4 June 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A507, Chapel Rd, Stondon Rd, High St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 2 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Dunton lane, Biggleswade outside No 1.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on Sunday 31st May between the hours 0800-1700. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via Dunton Lane, London

Road, Drove Road, Potton Road, Biggleswade Road,

Potton Road, Biggleswade Road, Blackbird Street, Sun Street, Royston Street, Bury Hill, Sutton Road, Biggleswade Road, Dunton Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 31 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

PROPOSES TO REDUCE THE 40MPH TO

30MPH ON STOTFOLD ROAD, ARLESEY Reason for proposal: The proposed reduction in speed limit is required as part of the highway works secured under Section 278 of the Highways Act 1980 in connection with planning permission CB/17/01158. The measure is necessary to mitigate the impact of the development on the local highway network and to ensure that the road environment is appropriate for its revised function.

Effect of the Order:

To reduce the existing 40mph speed limit to 30mph on the following length of road in Arlesey:-

1.  Stotfold Road, from a point approximately 5 metres southeast of a point in line with the south-eastern property boundary of No. 116 Stotfold Road and extending in a south-easterly direction for approximately 86 metres.
