Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Simbriss Road (8th June 2026 - 14th August 2026) - from the junction with Zion Hill To Underhill to the junction with Blackey Lane; Bays Lane (8th June 2026 - 14th August 2026) - for it’s entire length; Benter Lane To Bays Lane (20th July 2026 - 4th September 2026) - for it’s entire length; Upper Benter (20th July 2026 - 4th September 2026) - for it’s entire length; Upper Benter To Stock Hill (20th July 2026 - 4th September 2026) - from the junction with Upper Benter, north-westwards for a distance of 144 metres and Benter Cross To Upper Benter (20th July 2026 - 4th September 2026) - from the junction with Upper Benter To Stock Hill, eastwards for a distance of 262 metres. A total distance of 2513 metres. This Order will enable Envolve Infrastructure to carry out phased water mains renovation or replacement works on behalf of Bristol Water.
The Order becomes effective on 5th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 8th June 2026 and last until 4th September 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 89 days. b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
