Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders 2026 - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
(i) They Propose To Make Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

Caister-On-Sea – A149 Caister Bypass from its junction with the A149 Norwich Road to its junction with the A149 Caister Road (southbound carriageway only) to facilitate surface dressing chipping works, the Road will be temporarily subject to a variable speed restriction of 20 or 40mph from 1st to 12th June 2026 (may continue until 24th July 2026).
Alternative route is via: N/A.
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NB: The variable speed restriction will apply as appropriate, when indicated by signage on site.

Loddon
A) C395 High Bungay Road from 20m south of its junction with C203 Kittens Lane for 60m northwards and;
B) C203 Kittens Lane from its junction with C395 High Bungay Road to its junction with U76490 Drury Lane to facilitate fibre network installation works, the Road A will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and the Road B shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (westbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both an eastwards and westwards direction from 25th to 29th May 2026 (may continue until 10th July 2026).
Alternative route is via: High Bungay Road, A146 Loddon Bypass, George Lane, Bridge Street, Church Plain, High Street.

Oxborough – Goodestone Road from 1550m northwest of its junction with Swaffham Road for 365m westwards to facilitate new potable water main installation works. The Road will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 25th May to 4th September 2026 (may continue until 24th November 2027).

Poringland And Caistor St. Edmund And Bixley – C188 Stoke Road/Poringland Road from its junction with U78266 Old Mill Road to its junction with U78044 Chandler Road to facilitate drainage and carriageway repair works from 26th May to 1st June 2026 (may continue until 13th July 2026).
Alternative route is via: Long Lane, Norwich Road, Shoteshham Road, The Common, The Street, Chapel Lane, B1332 The Street, Stoke Road (Howe, Stoke Holy Cross, Shotesham, Poringland, Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley).

Roydon – C880 Old High Road from 20m east of its junction with A1066 High Road for 60m eastwards to facilitate plane and surface works from 27th to 28th May 2026 (may continue until 9th July 2026).
Alternative route is via: A1066 High Road/ Stanley Road, B1077 Denmark Street, Roydon Road, Old High Road (Diss, Roydon).
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NB: Access will be given to Manor Road up to the point of closure via Brewers Green.

Shelton And Hardwick – U76046 The Street from 90m south of its joining with Shelton Footpath 14 for 30m southwards to facilitate carriageway repair works from 26th to 27th May 2026 (may continue until 8th July 2026).
Alternative route is via: The Street, Common Road, Hall Lane.
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
