Watercombe Lane- Temporary Road Closure Due To Gas Main Replacement Works

Somerset Council Parish of Yeovil Temporary Closure of Watercombe Lane

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Watercombe Lane - from the junction with Preston Road to the junction with Westbourne Grove. A total distance of 116 metres.

This Order will enable Wales & West Utilities to replace gas mains.

The Order becomes effective on 5th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 8th June 2026 and last until 7th July 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 30 days.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
