What is happening?
Somerset Council Parish of Shepton Mallet Temporary Closure of Cowl Street
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Cowl Street - from the junction with Bath Road to the junction with Gold Hill. A total distance of 197 metres. This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer cleaning and surveying works.
The Order becomes effective on 5th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 8th June 2026 and last until 9th June 2026 between the hours of 09:30 - 15:30 for a total of 2 days.
