THE A977/A876 TRUNK ROAD (KINCARDINE) (TEMPORARY 20MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE OF DIRECTION UNDER SECTION 1.5(3) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS have directed that, as they propose to make provision to reproduce the effect of The A977/A876 Trunk Road (Kincardine) (Temporary 20 mph Speed Restriction) Order 2024 (S.S.I.328) but that in consequence of the procedure required to be followed in connection with making that provision it cannot come into operation until the temporary order ceases to be in force, the temporary order shall continue in force.

The order has the effect of temporarily imposing a 20mph speed restriction on the following lengths of road:

  1. That length of the A977 Kincardine Trunk Road from a point 38 metres or thereby east of the extended centreline of Forth View north-westwards to a point 375 metres or thereby north of the extended centreline of High Street, a total distance of 891 metres or thereby.

  2. That length of the A876 Kincardine Trunk Road from a point 204 metres or thereby northeast of the extended centreline of Walker Street south-westwards to a point 92 metres or thereby south of the extended centreline of Walker Street, a total distance of 296 metres or thereby.

The order, which was required for the interest of road safety was in operation from 18th November 2024. It would have expired on 18th May 2026 and will now continue in force until 18th July 2026 unless a further direction under section 15(3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 is given, or the order is revoked or amended.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations; or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.
