Wiltshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to cabling, utility and highway works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Bests Lane (Part), Sutton Veny; from its junction with Sandfield for a distance of approximately 60m in a southerly direction to enable Wessex Internet Limited to carry out cabling and associated works. Alternative route via Bests Lane (unaffected length) – Norton Road – High Street – Bests Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 June 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Wessex Internet Limited on 07831 40274.

B) C25 (Part), Kingston Deverill and Maiden Bradley with Yarnfield; from its junction with Whitepits to its junction with Back Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun and associated works. Alternative route via C25 (unaffected length) – B3095 – C41 – B3092 – C25 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:30 for 5 days. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

C) B3098 (Part), Edington; from its property known as No.23 Westbury Road to its property known as No.25 Westbury Road to enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection and associated works. Solid square to symbolise light diversion route. High Siders to be marked on signs. Alternative route high sided vehicles via B3098 (unaffected length) – C40 – A360 – A361 – A350 – Bitham Park – B3098 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route for all other vehicles via B3098 (unaffected length) – A360 – A361 – A350 – Bitham Park – B3098 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 and the closure will be required for 4 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600.

D) Glebe Way (Part), Corsham; from its junction with Barn Close to its property known as No.28 Glebe Way to enable Openreach Limited to carry out duct laying works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 27 May 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. E) C364 (Part), Warminster; from its junction with B3414 to its property known as No.2A Imber Road to enable Wales and West Utilities to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via C364 (unaffected length) – C10 – B3414 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 and the closure will be required for 4 days. F) A342 (Part), Bromham; from its property known as Ashton House for a distance of approximately 130m in a northerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out works to install a new crossing to aid flooding sites and other associated works. Alternative route via A342 (unaffected length) – A3102 – A4 – A361 – A342 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026 and the closure will be required for 4 days. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0105.

G) B3353 (Part), Corsham; from its junction with Alexander Terrace to its junction with Providence Lane to enable Wessex Water to carry out leak repair works and other associated works. Alternative route via B3353 (unaffected length) – A4 – C86 – B3353 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 19 April 2026 will now recommence on 24 May 2026 and the closure will be required for 1 day. Orders A) to F) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order G) has a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
