Southampton - Temporary Road Closure due to Survey Works

What is happening?

THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (PORTLAND TERRACE) (ROAD CLOSURE) (024/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council made the above Order on 18th May 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to close Portland Terrace from its junction with Civic Centre Road to its junction with Spa Road.

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are to complete survey works.

The alternative route will be High Street, Town Quay, West Quay Road, Southern Road, Western Esplanade and Civic Centre Road.

The Order will come into force on 26th May 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 30th May 2026.
