What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7520 Lower Road, Forest Row) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Lower Road – from the junction with Station Road to the junction with A22 London Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 London Road, Lewes Road – B2110 Hartfield Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 27 May 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 29 May 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C83 Church Street/Wardsbrook Road, Ticehurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Church Street/Wardsbrook Road – from the junction with B2099 High Street to the junction with C83 Myskyns Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C83 Myskyns Road, Cottenden Road – C214 Bardown Road, Stonegate Road – B2099 Shovers Green, High Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 26 May 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 26 and 29 May 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
