What is happening?

2. During the work:

(a) Plough Lane will be closed to vehicular traffic between its junction with Russel Hill and the common boundary of Nos. 40a and 42 Plough Lane.

(b) Parking in Plough Lane will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time adopted under length of the road, on both sides.

3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Foxley Lane, Woodcote Road, Stafford Road, Purley Way, Purley Road and Banstead Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 23 May 2026, and its anticipated that the work will be completed on 31 May 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle or person involved in conducting the said work.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

HERMITAGE ROAD, KENLEY

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas service alteration works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Hermitage Road, Kenley.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Hermitage Road will be closed outside No. 17a Hermitage Road.

3. During the closure traffic will be diverted via the alternative routes below.

• Via Central Hill, Harold Road, Beulah Hill and vice versa.

• Via Crown Dale, Beulah Hill and vice versa.

4. The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 29 May 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicted by traffic signs. 

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

SUTHERLAND ROAD & MITCHAM ROAD, CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water valve installation works on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Sutherland Road and Mitcham Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

(a) Vehicles proceeding in Sutherland Road will be banned from turning right into Mitcham Road.

(b) Vehicles proceeding in Mitcham Road will be banned from turning right into Sutherland Road.

(c) Parking bays in the following locations in Mitcham Road will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time.

(i) Outside Nos. 214 and 216 Mitcham Road.

(ii) Outside Nos. 222 to 230 Mitcham Road.

(iii) Outside Nos. 117 to 121 Mitcham Road.

(d) The footway outside Nos. 119 to 123 Mitcham Road will be closed.

3. During the closure diversion routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure will be diverted via a walkway in the carriageway.

• Eastbound – Via Dennet Road, London Road, Canterbury Road and Mitcham Road.

• Westbound – Via Wentworth Road and Sutherland Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 29 May 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicted by traffic signs.

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement work, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements on Purley Rise, Purley.

2. Whilst the said work is taking place closures will apply on the following sections of road.

3. During the closure, traffic will be diverted via Hill Road, Woodcote Valley Road, Purley Knoll, Brighton Road, and vice versa.

4. The Order will come into operation on 08 June 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicted by traffic signs. 

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place the entire length of Purley Knoll will be closed.

3. During the closure, traffic will be diverted via Woodcote Valley Road, Hill Road, Purley Rise, and Brighton Road, or via Brighton Road, Banstead Road, A2022, and Woodcote Valley Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 08 June 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed by 03 July 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
