Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close the following length of Footpath 3, 4 & 5, Cold Norton, Footpath 4 Stow Maries and Footpath 11 & 13, Purleigh in the District of Maldon:

Footpath 13, PurleighFrom its junction with Footpath 3, Cold Norton, east to its junction with Footpath 14 Purleigh approximately 875 metres.
Footpath 11, PurleighFrom its junction with Flambirds Chase, south to its junction with Footpath 4 Cold Norton approximately 533 metres.
Footpath 4 Cold NortonFrom its junction with Footpath 11, Purleigh south for its entire length to its junction with Footpath 5 Cold Norton.
Footpath 5, Cold NortonFrom its junction with Footpath 4 Cold Norton to its junction with Footpath 4 Stow Maries approximately 800 metres.
Footpath 4, Stow MariesFrom its junction with Footpath 5, Cold Norton east then south to its junction with Footpath 3, Stow Maries for approximately 587 metres.
The alternative route for the above footpath closures will be via: Hackman’s Lane or FP3 Stow Maries, FP7 Cold Norton, FP2 Cold Norton, FP8 Purleigh and vice versa.

The temporary closures are scheduled to commence on 24 May 2026, 16 August 2026 and 12 and 13 September 2026 between the hours of 0800 hours and 16:00 hours where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting, are required for the safety of the public while events take place at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome.

The Orders will come into effect on 24 May 2026 and may continue in force 6 months or until the events have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Crouchmans Farm Road, Ulting)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Crouchmans Farm Road, Ulting in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 50m north of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 100m a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th June 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNHDV3F – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Crouchmans Farm Road, The Causeway, Hoe Mill Road, Rectory Road, The Street, Little Baddow Road, Spring Elms Lane, North Hill, Worlds End, Mowden Hall Lane, London Road, The Street, Maldon Road, Ulting Road, Crouchmans Farm Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 28th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hyde Lane, Danbury)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hyde Lane, Danbury in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 30m north west of its junction with Barley Mead for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th June 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNP6D2R – Openreach Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation of a new telegraph pole and associated cabling works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.

An alternative route is available via Hyde Lane, Maldon Road, Copt Hill, Gay Bowers Lane, Mill Lane, Hyde Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 28th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Maypole Road, Great Totham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maypole Road, Great Totham in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 350m north east of its junction with Captains Wood Road for a distance of approximately 400m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd June 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PLT3163005430032025 – Openreach Limited).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.

Maypole Road, Jubilee Way, Langford Road, Maldon Road, Witham Road, Langford Road, Station Road, Maldon Road, Blue Mills Hill, Witham Road, Maypole Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 28th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic &

Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)

Order (No.4) 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Maldon as specified in the schedule to this Order.
  2. To introduce a temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 28th May 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

(Temporary Introduction of 40 MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction on that length of Highlands Hill/Foxhall Road, Mayland in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 160m north east of its junction with Mayland Hill a distance of approximately 750m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. The restriction is scheduled to commence on 1st June 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M175897/EN014M175897A – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pipe renewal works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.

The Order came into effect on 14th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
