AND SHROPSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS)

ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A49 Trunk Road, in the Counties of Herefordshire and Shropshire to enable junction improvement works to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to close any layby adjacent to the A49, between its roundabout junction with the A40 and Wilton Road, at Wilton, to its junction with the A456 at Woofferton.

The laybys are expected to be closed

24 hours a day from 13:00 hours on Monday

1 June 2026 until 06:00 hours on Wednesday

1 July 2026. The Order will come into force on

25 May 2026.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures.
