What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BUNNY FOOTPATH NO.17) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of "The Nottinghamshire County Council (Bunny Footpath No.17) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2025 (which came into force on 25th November 2025 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order until 24th May 2026 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 24th November 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.

The Order has the following effect:-

No person shall: -

(a) proceed on foot,
in the following length of Footpath at Bunny in the Borough of Rushcliffe :-

Bunny Footpath No.17 - from its junction with Bunny
Bridleway No.4 at SK 57353 30715 to where Bunny
Footpath joins the farm track at SK 56979 30632.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available for pedestrians will be as follows:-

Bunny Bridleway No.4, Bunny Footpath No.2, Bunny
Bridleway No.5, Bunny Footpath No.18, Bunny Footpath
No.8, Bunny Footpath No.7 and vice versa.

If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety until essential repairs can be completed to timber footbridges along this route.
