What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Winter Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.92) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 26th May 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
EVANS ROAD

From its junction with Winter Road for 10 metres.
EMPSHOTT ROAD
From its junction with Winter Road for 10 metres.
WIMBORNE ROAD
From its junction with Winter Road for 10 metres.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Openreach works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 26th May 2026 to 1st June 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from: Wimborne Road, Clovelly Road, Essex Road, Winter Road; and Evans Road, Teddington Road, Prince Albert Road, Devonshire Avenue, Winter Road; and Empshott Road, Haslemere Road, Heyshott Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
