What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF STOCKTON-ON-TEES

A67 THIRSK ROAD, KIRKLEVINGTON (SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.

The Order will have the effect of reducing the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph along the lengths of A67 Thirsk Road, Kirklevington as specified in The Schedule below. 

Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order which, together with a map showing the affected roads and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined at the Stockton Customer Service Centre, Central Library, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees during normal office hours and on the Council's website (Traffic Orders). 

If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to Highway Network and Traffic Team Leader Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Dunedin House, Columbia Drive, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, TS17 6BJ or HTD@Stockton.gov.uk by 15th June 2026.

THE SCHEDULE - Proposed Revised Speed Limit from 40mph to 30mph

A67 Thirsk Road, Yarm - From a point approximately 155m, south of the junction with Stell Way to a point approximately 692m north, following the road layout of the A67.
