What is happening?

The County of Dorset (Various Roads, Ryme Intrinseca and Yetminster) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limits) (No.15) Order 2026

Dorset Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

When the Order comes into operation on 2nd June 2026 the effect of the Order will be to introduce 20mph and 30mph speed limits along sections of various roads in Ryme Intrinseca and Yetminster.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Tra c Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for that purpose.

Notice of Confirmation of a Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order

Dorset Council (Footpath 12, Holwell) Public Path Diversion Order 2026

On 11 May 2026 Dorset Council confirmed the above-named order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 as unopposed and the Council has certified that work has been carried out to bring the site of the new highway mentioned in article 3 of the order into a t condition for use by the public.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert Footpath 12, Holwell as shown on the order map as follows:

From the existing path:
The whole width of the footpath from ST 7010 1095 generally north east to ST 70260 11047 and then continuing north east, then south east to ST 7038 1111 then north west, and then north east to point ST 7039 1114 and north, north east to a eld gate at ST 70378 11184. Width: from ST 7038 1111 to ST 7039 1114 is 5 feet

To the new path:
From its junction with Crouch Lane, at ST 70111 10940 in a north-easterly direction across a eld for 180 metres to a pedestrian gate at ST 70275 11021 across a pedestrian bridge then north west for 30 metres to a pedestrian gate at ST 70260 11047, continuing north west for 40 metres to ST 70240 11081 then north east for 25 metres to a eld gate at ST 70260 11092. Then north east across a eld for 140 metres to a eld gate at ST 70381 11160 then generally north north west for approximately 30 metres to its junction with Footpath 10 at ST 70378 11184.

Width 2.0 metres. Limitations: Pedestrian gate to BS5709:2018 at ST 70275 11021.

A copy of the order as con rmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal o ce hours. Copies are also available on our website at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/row-orders.

The order comes into force on 18 May 2026 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 21 May 2026, make an application to the High Court.
