Rutland County Council District Council (‘the Council’) has powers under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) to make traffic regulation orders affecting the adopted highway within the County of Rutland.
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council now proposes to make an order entitled the Rutland County Council District Council (Temporary Diversion of Vehicular Traffic) Wing Road Parish of Manton CP Order 2026 as the Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
The effect of the order will be that during the dates and times specified below all vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the length of road known as Wing Road from Lyndon Road to Wing Road
The duration of the Closure shall be for a maximum period of six months from 15th June 2026 or until the works are completed.
It is anticipated the works will take 12 days. The closure shall come into force when the appropriate signs and diversion route are erected on site.
The duration of the Closure shall be as follows: from 15th June 2026 to 26th June 2026
The alternative route during the closure will be via the route shown on the attached plan and as shown on https://one.network
The alternative route during the closure will be via the following streets: Lyndon Road, Brooke/Martinsthorpe/Manton Bridleway E251, Uppingham Road, Oakham Road, Wing Road, Preston Road, Station Road with a reciprocal route.
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
(a) Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue or ambulance purposes;
(b) Vehicles being used in connection with the execution of the works;
(c) Anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable or authorised officer;
(d) Access to premises where reasonably practicable and subject to the requirements of the works.
Vehicle Removal
Any vehicle left in contravention of the restrictions imposed by this Order, or which causes an obstruction to the execution of the works, may be removed or relocated by or on behalf of the Council in accordance with: Sections 99 and 102 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; and The Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986
