(Temporary Road and Footpath Closure) Order 2026

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road and footpath. Road Closure (closed to vehicular traffic): A 26 metre length of Grange Street from the side of Number 1 Elwin Street to the front of Number 96 The Wynd. Footpath Closure (closed to pedestrian traffic): A 110 metre length of Footpath Number 11, from the side of Number 96 The Wynd to the side of Number 72 The Wynd to enable new pipeline installation works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic from the south side of the closure, in a westerly direction on Elwin Street then north on Wood Street and Front Street Rear South, then east on Front Street, then south on Grange Street to northern end of closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on Monday 8/6/2026 and are anticipated to be completed in 22 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
