(Worthing 10K Run) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary traffic restrictions on Roads in Worthing as follows:

To temporarily close MARINE CRESCENT between Sea Place and Sea Lane (Goring), MARINE DRIVE between Sea Lane (Goring) and Sea Lane (Ferring), GLYNDE AVENUE and MARINE DRIVE ACCESS ROAD throughout their entire lengths and AMBERLEY DRIVE between Glynde Avenue and Marine Drive Access Road.

To temporarily close MARINE PARADE/WEST PARADE to westbound traffic between Heene Road and George V Avenue, GEORGE V AVENUE to northbound traffic between West Parade and Eirene Road, and EIRENE ROAD to westbound traffic between George V Avenue and Sea Place.

These restrictions are needed to allow the Worthing 10k Run 2026 to take place in safety.

The Order will come into effect at 0900hours on 7 June 2026 and remain in force until midday the same day.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Burpham: Public Footpath 2238)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Public Footpath 2238 in Burpham from its junction with Public Footpath 2267_2 westwards for 685M. The closure of this route is needed to maintain public safety following the collapse of a footbridge.

The Order continues the effect of a previously issued emergency closure notice and will come into effect on 21 May 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 6 months, or until repairs to the footbridge are completed, whichever is earlier. Unfortunately, during the operative period of this Order, no alternative route is available via the public rights of way network.

(Worthing: Farncombe Road, Madeira Avenue and Merton Road)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Farncombe Road, Madeira Avenue and Merton Road at their junctions with Brighton Road in Worthing. The closure of these junctions is needed to maintain safety while repairs are carried out to a sewer on Brighton Road.

The Order will come into effect on 22 May 2026 and remain in force until 8 June 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
