THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ST. HELENS (CARR MILL ROAD, ST HELENS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the St. Helens Borough Council propose not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended), the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in either direction along Carr Mill Road between A580 East Lancashire Road and Laffak Road, as and when directed by road traffic signs on-site.

The Order will come into force on Monday 14th September, 2026, and will have a maximum duration of eighteen months, but will terminate on completion of the works, which is expected to be 16 days. The alternative route will be via A580 East Lancashire Road, A571 Green Leach Lane, Woodlands Road and vice versa.

The reason for making this Order is to facilitate the installation of a new water main.
